Drum Lessons
Generally, students from 8 years old are suitable to begin drum lessons. The lessons are 1/2 hour in length and cover many broad elements including reading music notation, technique, timing, feel and performance.
Lessons are invoiced on a term by term basis - not individually. I charge for the whole term minus 1 week. This allows for 1 missed lesson due to sickness/school camp etc. The flat rate for a 10 week school term is currently $225 ($25 per lesson) for 1 on 1 instruction.
All equipment including sticks & sheet music etc. is supplied for our lesson, however tutorial books for practice between lessons may have to be purchased.
Percussion Lessons - 1 on 1 & Group
Generally, students of any age are suitable to begin percussion based lessons. The lessons are 1/2 hour in length and cover a more general rhythm based pathway. General music knowledge along with exposure to a range of percussion instruments, including tuned percussion is the general plan for this area of lessons.
Small groups often work well with these types of lessons however 1 on 1 lessons are of course available. This is a general introduction to percussion based music, that caters for the first year or so of music lessons before progressing to other instruments in most cases.

Bass Guitar Lessons
Typically students of High School age are most suitable to begin Bass Guitar Lessons. My Bass lessons are aimed at beginner level students. We work generally from a Bass tutor that I have developed that aims to have students playing along with backing tracks at the earliest possible time. The lessons are 1/2 hour in length and cover many broad elements including reading music notation, general music theory, technique, timing, feel and performance.

You will need a bass of your own to bring to lessons and for practice between sessions. Amp and tutorial materials are supplied for lessons however tutorial books for practice between lessons may have to be purchased.
Classroom Group Lessons
Short term contracts are welcome for classroom group lessons. Lessons are Australian Curriculum based and can include singing, drum & percussion elements, tuned percussion, Ukulele, music technology and of course performance. All curriculum elements can be covered, or perhaps just some concert items prepared - using instruments and voice. Contact me for possibilities and cost.
